This position requires extensive knowledge of RCRA specifically 40 CFR parts 260-265 and DOT 49 CFR parts 170-179 as they relate to the management, storage, shipment, recycle, reuse, treatment and/or disposal of hazardous and industrial waste. Minimum of 5-years of hazardous and industrial waste management industry experience is required and BS in Chemistry is preferred. Key skills required are waste stream evaluation, RCRA characterization, profiling, recycle / reuse / or disposal site selection, logistics management, identifying DOT specification packaging, waste generation process evaluation, technical writing, technical and personal communication with customers. Lab Pack experience is a plus. Recycle and Reuse experience is a plus.
Preference given to applicants with extensive knowledge of EPA and DOT regulations and experience working with TSDFs and Transporters to arrange hazardous and industrial waste shipments. Preference is also given to individuals who have the technical aptitude to research and explain complex regulatory issues.
The successful candidate will manage most activities of current clients' hazardous and industrial by-product/co-product/ and waste program. This may require waste characterization, packaging, regulatory interpretation, profile generation, designing recycle or reuse programs, TSDF selection, scheduling and coordination shipments, reviewing invoices, providing weekly inspections, conducting lab packs, overseeing remedial projects, entertaining clients, developing and nurturing business relationships and vertical account growth and development.
This particular position will report to the Richmond, VA office.Travel is required, including overnight, primarily throughout the mid-atlantic with nationwide travel potentially required. A valid US drivers license is required as is the ability to freely travel by air and rent vehicles for company use.
A thorough back ground check including: drug screen, criminal history, and driving record will be a condition of employment.
Salary range is completely commensurate with compatibility of the many and varying job requirements and responsibilities. Bonuses are paid in addition to an industry leading salary for experience level.A medical insurance package is provided. Paid vacation and company holidays are included. The company will provide all business tools required for success including: cell phone, lap top computer, PPE, etc... Personal vehicle miles are reimbursed at the current government suggested rate.
