Environmental Field Scientist / Hazardous Materials Coordinator

NRC Environmental Services Inc. has an immediate opening for Environmental Scientists/Field Chemists with 1-3 years experience in the environmental or related field for our Alameda, CA office.  Responsibilities include interfacing with internal and external clients to assist in the proper identification, packaging transportation and disposal of hazardous waste.  Field characterizing unknown wastes, preparing profiles, labels and manifests along with responding to emergency clean-up situations.

 

This is not a lab position but a field position in an organization that provides “hands-on” involvement with emergency responses and full scale environmental services.

 

Qualified candidates will possess:40-Hour Hazwoper & HM181 trainingBS in Environmental Science, Chemistry or equivalent degreeWorking knowledge of EPA, DOT & OSHA regulationsClean DMV record with Class B or C license with hazard waste endorsements.Strong communication, project documentation and computer skills.Fast learner and detail oriented with the ability to handle multi tasksAbility to work within the requirements of the business which requires on-call (24/7) availability.
