Technical Services Veterinarian - Livestock - Stocker
Our client is a premier provider of pharmaceutical and health products for cattle and is looking for a Technical Services Veterinarian to support its sales force and its customers in this endeavor.
Principle duties would include:
Calling on stocker cattlemen, veterinarians, influencers, trade channel, and distributor representatives to provide scientific support so company may achieve a sustainable competitive advantage.
Providing animal health/veterinary solutions to a broad array of animal health and production issues that are based upon a sales approach that identifies the customers needs.
Providing sound technical advice on routine inquiries, acting as a resource to assist other team members with inquiries.
Partnering with individual sales colleagues to form an account team which develops, executes, and maintain strategies that focus efforts on targeted stocker accounts critical to the success of the business unit.
Build and maintain relationships and influence with key industry leaders including veterinarians, extension, university personnel, diagnostic labs, and others that impact our customer base.
Collaborate and build strong partnerships with Territory Managers, Area Sales Managers, veterinary colleagues, and other internal colleagues to insure continuity and success in all business strategies and customer support.
Provide assistance and support as required to U.S. Drug Safety.
Advise Learning and Development on the technical content of training programs, and provide technical training and education to colleagues within company as required.
Providing persuasive, impactful, and targeted presentations to a variety of external audiences including veterinary, academic, industry, and media.
Organize the array of Veterinary Operations responsibilities, activities, and information to create (and execute) a personal management action plan to achieve objectives.
Providing specialty support to other Areas or businesses as directed by management.
Participating, as required, on special projects and tactical implementation that aligns with key stakeholders to effectively position products and the portfolio (e.g., reviewing sales material, participating on new product launch teams, and others).
Providing accurate and timely documentation of activities and customer interactions to specified management levels.
Conducting all business in an ethical and professional manner. Support and demonstrate the company values of integrity, leadership, innovation, teamwork, customer-focus, respect for people, and community.Qualifications: Required Qualifications
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree
Two (2) years post doctoral experience in clinical practice, academia, research, or industry
Strong analytical thinking, problem solving skills and attention to detail
Strong scientific acumen and production medicine background
Effective organizational skills and demonstrated leadership skills
Ability to exercise judgement and make thoughtful decisions based on relevant information.
Strong interpersonal and business management skills
Excellent oral and written communications skills
Excellent computer skills (MS Office and ability to learn company systems)
Demonstrated ability to work well with others especially in a team atmosphere
Ability to travel extensively (70-80%). Occasional weekends may be required
Preferred Qualifications
MS or MBA
Bi-lingual (Spanish) preferred
3-5 years of practice experience and/or
3-5 years of Field Veterinary Operations experience
Extensive knowledge of the beef and stocker industry
Ability to think and act strategically
Extensive knowledge of relevant animal health products
