Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Primary responsibility is to maintain an adequate supply of quality trasnporation carriers to ensure a high level of service to our customers at the lowest cost.
- Transportation closely interfaces with the local departments of production, order planning, quality assurance, accounting, logistics as well as St. Louis Transporation/Distribution Staff.
- Supervise all carriers to ensure adherence to transporation laws and NPPC operating standards and applicable laws.
- Coordinate daily activities of Transporation Clerks and Trade Representatives. Performs performance reviews for Transportation staff.
- Manage pallet purchase and sales program.
- Perform match pay resolution for Buying Department.

Supervisor Duties include:
- Recruit and Interview job candidates
- Set or recommend salary levels
- Set hours of work
- Train less senior employees
- Recommend employment actions (e.g. promotions, terminations)
- Review/evaluate work/performance of less senior employees
- Control flow and distribution of supplies and materials
- Select or recommend hiring job candidates
- Assign work
- Orient new employees to the job
- Identify staffing needs
- Plan/prioritize work of others
- Monitor budgets and allocate spending
- Act on employee problems, handle complaints

Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or related field.

Experience: 3-4+ years
