CDL Driver Trainer for waste industry global Fortune 200 company
Job Description:· Coordination of all training requirements set forth by company and / or regulatory standards.
· Interface and comply with OSHA/DOT regulators, and WM policies and procedures.
· Ride along with temporary, newly licensed drivers, and those involved in an incidents. Complete unannounced observations within two weeks of occurrence.
· Conduct 90day pre and post trip reviews of new hires.
· Ride along with experienced drivers to provide refresher training.
· Complete monthly truck inspections.
· Assure that all drivers and loaders have the required safety training to compliment their current work assignment.
· Tracking and scheduling medical and CDL renewals and annual MVRs.
· Conducting new employee orientation and refresher safety training on OSHA/DOT required topics.
· Correcting unsafe acts/conditions as identified by incident analysis and/or unannounced observations.
· Maintain incident statistics and submit required information on a timely basis.
· Participate the incident review board, and safety committee.
· Conduct a road test of all new drivers
· Monitor and consistently enforce company policies, procedures and safe work practices.
· Ability to adjust workload relative to the priorities of the current work environment.
· Conduct yourself in a positive and professional manner that will encourage safe employee conduct and will promote pro-active employee morale.
· Complete all other duties as assigned. · Further assignments will be in cab training with identified employees as well as on the road OBAs.
Minimum Requirements (Education, certification, licensure, and experience that is essential to success in the position):
· Class B CDL
· High School Diploma or GED
· Strong Communication Skills.
· Ability to teach (train) by demonstration.
· 3 -5 years of driving experience.
· 2 years of managerial and/or teaching experience
· This position will be required to move to a Class A license within the first 12 months of employment.
· Ability to speak in public settings.
· Computer skills to include MS Office and other WM operating system
Preferred Characteristics: (Education, certification, licensure, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities that are preferred, but not critical, in candidates for the position):
·Class A CDL
·College Diploma
·State Certified CDL Instructor
· Experience in the waste industry
· Experience devising training programs
· Basic understanding of all different operating systems in the District (FEL, ROL, REL, ASL, CD, Post Collections)
