Product Designer

The world’s leading design and manufacturer of construction gear products is looking for a Creative Product Designer to provide creative leadership of product design from concept through production.

The right candidate will evaluate all new product offers, create new product design and engineer actual design lay-out. (Please submit 2 samples of your design work)

Should have experience with a variety of materials, textiles, textures and fabrics. Prepare sketches of ideas, detailed drawings, illustrations, artwork, and/or blueprints, using drafting instruments, or computer-aided design equipment. Must have technical drawing capabilities and able to work with sales, marketing, and product development team to align creative strategy with business.

Work closely with senior management on all efforts to lead the marketplace in the product categories the company now develops and will develop in the future.

Must be able to read publications, attend showings, and study competing products and design styles and motifs to obtain perspective and generate design concepts.

Evaluate feasibility of design ideas, based on factors such as appearance, safety, function, serviceability, budget, production costs/methods, and market characteristics. Research production specifications, production materials and manufacturing methods, and provide cost estimates and itemized production requirements.

Visit trade shows in Europe, USA, etc. to stay on top of trends and understand customer parameters and evaluate competition. Should be able to communicate with overseas sample making and manufacturing.
