POSITION SUMMARY: Manage and monitor the daily workload of Communication Technicians 1-5's, installers, service persons and contractors to ensure work is completed in a timely and efficient manner. Stays current with advanced technical, advances including but not limited to network management (status monitoring). Ensure compliance with Comcast, NCTA, FCC standards and Technical scorecard metrics. Responsible for necessary monthly reports as required, i.e. Technical Operations reports. Prepare and manage to budget in order to control costs and help attain profit objectives. Conduct regular meetings with personnel to maintain two-way communication. Manage the coordination, organization, planning and implimentation of work load to ensure Comcast's technical standards are met. Acceptance and/or approval of all invoiced materials and contract labor to include fiber, coaxial, hardware and end-to-end testing. Responsible for 24-hour a day Fiber and/or coordination of restoration response. Establish and develop staff through ongoing training program; i.e. work schedules, operational procedures, communications skills, policies, technical skills and Comm Tech program. Manage mainline and cable replacement activity. Maintain and/or exceed minimum completion rate on scorecard objectives. Facilitate communication between Technical Department, Customer Service, Dispatch, Head-End, Maintenance, Warehouse and Marketing. Ensure that vehicles and equipment are maintained and kept in clean and safe working condition and that personnel are instructed on their proper use. Assist in hiring, managing, training, and developing the technical personnel on system problems, service, repair, and FCC regulations. Ensure a team environment and an atmosphere which promotes employee development. Assist in developing and administering the department operating budget. Review technician performance annually. Prepare monthly productivity reports.

Qualifications
EDUCATION: High school diploma plus specialized technical training equivalent to 2 years of technical school or the recognized equivalent in work experience and self-study. 8 years of technical CATV experience encompassing approximately five years functional supervisory experience. High energy person with a strong willingness to complete difficult and multiple work assignments. Proven track record of developing staff and maintaining a high standard of employee relations. Proficient PC skills. Strong interpersonl skills essential.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


Frequent walking, standing, bending and squatting

Must be able to carry an 80 lb latter.

Frequent exposure to extreme temperatures, dust, and heights
