Project Manager - Telecommunications
TDS is seeking a highly organized, trustworthy and efficient professional. Our continued success and devotion to Engineering Excellence has created a need for a BICSI - RCDD® Telecommunications Engineer/Project Manager. Candidate can be located near our Tampa FL or Akron OH offices. We are looking for a candidate experienced in the design and implementation of telecommunication cable plant projects for high profile commercial and institutional customers. Duties will include, but are not limited to, network and infrastructure design, troubleshooting, customer service, product and service sales support, consulting and much more. The qualified applicant must be a telecommunications specialist with knowledge and experience in the design, implementation and integration of telecommunications/data systems and related infrastructure. Must have extensive knowledge and experience in multiple aspects of telecommunication network architectures and be an expert in TIA/EIA standards and BICSI network design practices. Applicant must also provide the leadership qualities required to share industry experience with co-workers through professional skill building. Experience should include but not be limited to, developing plans, configuring specifications, RFPs, bid evaluations, and construction phase assistance. Responsibilities: Oversee the Infrastructure Planning and Engineering Services activities including structure cabling systems (copper, fiber, coaxial cables, wireless); developing, documenting, and maintaining of long-range plans for structured cabling systems and support infrastructure. Requirements for the position are as follows.
o B. S. degree in engineering, information technology, information systems, or computer science is preferred.
o Design experience with the following systems is a plus: LAN, WLAN, WAN, telephone, structured cabling, audio-visual, security-access control, CCTV, CATV, intercom and related systems.
o Moderate-to-strong AutoCAD knowledge.
o Telecommunications cabling standards (voice, data, video - UTP, Coaxial, Single-Mode, Multi-mode fiber optics, ISDN, Ethernet, CATV, CCTV, etc.), and Cable Management (Installation, Operations, and Maintenance) required.
o Strong knowledge and awareness of industry standards (EIA/TIA, BICSI, IEEE, NEC, etc,)
