Programmer Analyst


Must have knowledge of software development life cycle, database software, development software, interface protocols, code library management, operating and project management software and skills.

Participates in the investigation, user requirements gathering, systems analysis, documentation, coding and maintenance of assigned computer applications and processes. Determines feasibility, cost, time required, compatibility with current system and computer capabilities. Analyses, enhances, develops, installs, tests, modifies and documents moderate to complex department or enterprise wide applications using high level languages such as C++, Visual Basic, SQL, JAVA, ASP, etc. Supports all aspects of department and user reporting requirements for all assigned systems and applications. Analyses, designs and implements accurate, secure, and efficient logical and physical databases and coordinates database development applying knowledge of database design standards and database management system. Troubleshoots problems and assists in maintaining help line.

Knowledge: Moderate use and application of technical principles, theories and concepts.

Problem Solving: Develops and communicates solutions to routine technical problems of ample scope.

Discretion / Latitude: Work under general supervision. Is given basic instructions then work is reviewed for technical judgment and adequacy.

Impact: Contributes to the completion of detailed technical tasks. Failure to achieve results can be overcome but may cause delays and wasted resources.

 

Education / Experience: B.S. or related experience.

Compensation based on experience.
