ASG Technical Support Engineer

Glow Networks, a premier Telecommunication Consulting Company, is currently looking for a qualified individual for a 1 to 2 year position. Successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in providing support on the Ascend Signaling Gateway (ASG) platform. The applicant will be responsible for working with customers to understand and reproduce issues that have been opened. This work will involve communicating directly with the customer on the phone and/or via email, determining what information is needed from the customer, and using the information to create a reproducible test case for the issue. The applicant must be available to respond to pages for customer issues within the time frame determined by the customer agreement (from 10 minutes to 8 hours depending on the severity of the issue). The applicant must be able to physically access laboratory facilities in the Clearwater, FL location as needed to set-up test equipment. The applicant must also update customer ticket information on a regular basis.



Responsibilities include:



Experience with the UNIX operating system – HPUX and Solaris preferred
Knowledge of SS-7 ISUP, ANSI and ITU White book versions
Understanding of TCP/IP networking
Knowledge of the IPDC protocol
Able to operate INET SPECTRA SS-7 test equipment
Working knowledge of one or more of the following products: MAX-TNT, APX 8000, APX 8100
Ability to communicate directly with customers to understand and reproduce platform issues

Majors preferred:



BS or related work experience
