Senior Manager, Sports Partnerships
The Senior Manager of Sports Partnerships is responsible for developing, implementing and overseeing all aspects of World Games preparation/competition/evaluation and delegation services for Special Olympics North America (SONA). This position also assists with sports development and competition management for Regional and National competitions. Description:
Manage and oversee all aspects of Team USA – including logistics, information dissemination, quota system, selection of Head of Delegations, in-kind fund development (transportation, uniforms, equipment, etc.), committee structure, communications and media, medical, security, risk management, training and long term operational plans Create and maintain communication with all SONA Programs regarding World Games – update information, coordinate areas of need and overlap in resources, facilitate questions and concerns, and provide assistance as needed Oversee World Games athlete quota request and distribution process for SONA Oversee World Games selection criteria Serve as liaison to Games Organizing Committees as well as Special Olympics World Games department for all World Games related issues for SONA Coordinate World Games athlete participation in US National and North America Regional competitive opportunities Manage all related meetings, conferences, events and trainings linked to SONAs participation in World Games Assist in providing technical and event management resources for USA National Games and all SONA competitions above the Program level Develop infrastructures, partnerships and implement strategies that promote and grow assigned sports Develop and oversee annual operating budget(s) Develop and oversee all related partnerships and relationships Provide support and resources to all Programs within the region Work to ensure adherence of the Special Olympics vision and mission statement Other duties as assigned by the Director of Sports for North America
Qualifications Required:
BA or BS College Degree 5+ years Special Olympics or similar non-profit experience strongly desired8+ years experience in event planning (International Sporting Events preferred) with expertise in fund raising and sponsorship Excellent computer skills Demonstrated oral communication and presentation skills Excellent management and leadership skills Experience working with volunteers in key leadership roles Able to handle multiple tasks Fluency in Spanish language strongly desired Willingness and ability to travel independently
