Telesales Director

Summary The Telesales Director is responsible for driving revenue growth in the Telesales Division.  By providing strong leadership and mentoring, the Director develops and maintains profitable revenue streams that meet or exceed the targets and objectives set by senior management. The Telesales Director is expected to aggressively develop new customer relationships, expand domestic and international opportunities, manage and develop the telesales teams, and provide strategic planning and direction for the Division. 


Tasks & Accountabilities

Directs, trains and motivates call center representatives who generate leads, manage accounts and close sales over the telephone. Develops markets, sets targets and maintains records for the telesales department. Tracks sales and call productivity and adjusts staffing levels appropriately. Generates revenue through inbound or outbound telesales functions or call centers managing small to mid-size accounts.  Manages territories through business analysis, planning, opportunity management and activity management.  Collaborates with Sales, Marketing, Operations and Service management to promote and implement sales growth and customer retention strategies and activities. Develops markets, sets targets and maintains records for the telesales department. Partners with other sales manager(s) to communicate sales problems, business observations, customer feedback, etc.  Develops, implements, and improves processes through identification of operational, sales, and technological changes that are having an impact on customer satisfaction and call center efficiency. Assigns work, sets completion dates, reviews work, and manages performance in accordance with organizational policies, procedures, and performance management processes.

Skills & Qualifications

Has extensive depth and breadth of expertise and experience in business/functional area.  A wide and comprehensive acquaintance with, and understanding of, both general and specific aspects of work supervised and practical application to problems and situations ordinarily encountered.  Applies and/or develops highly advanced technologies, principles, theories and concepts. Exhibits an exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness.  Analyzes and resolves complex cross-functional issues. Bachelor's degree.

- Significant sales and sales management experience in business-to-business sales. The most competitive candidates will have at least 10 years experience in a performance-oriented culture and show responsibility for a multi-state sales force of at least several managers and at least 150+ representatives.

- Demonstrated success driving revenue growth in a competitive product or service industry, to include telecommunications, technology hardware, equipment, or other service businesses. The most competitive candidates will have documented evidence of consistent sales success against larger competitors, and experience at or above $100 million in annual sales.

- Demonstrated success launching new product or service offerings and/or entry into new geographic markets. Experienced in the usage, training and development of Sales force automation tools.

- A leader capable of developing and inspiring a telesales force, with excellent presentation skills and executive presence.

- Travel required.
