Sales Engineer-Plastics in Michigan

My client is an innovative plastics manufacturer with a lengthy history and a state-of-the-art facility that is clean, modern, and temperature controlled. They are currently doing $9M in sales with 40% of sales from the automotive industry and are owned by a larger privately-held company with a diverse portfolio. They are currently seeking a Sales Engineer to live in the Grand Rapids, MI with a national territory.  This is a new position with the ability to move up the company.  Please apply immediately, as they are looking to hire now.

 

The successful candidate will have a 4-year engineering degree (preferably a BSME), 5 or more years of proven sales engineering experience, and extensive knowledge in plastics injection molding processes and environments (preferably within the plastics automotive industry).

Specifically, you will be responsible for initiating sales growth through the development of a comprehensive sales & marketing plan and develop a top-notch technical team through training and leadership.  Long-term responsibilities include diversifying the customer base, growing business further, improving profitability through reduced scrap, downtime, etc., and developing a competitive advantage in the plastics processing industry. 

 

Additional desirable experience includes: multi-shot tooling, quality systems implementation, program launch, and experience with various plastic decorating methods (pad printing, painting, hot stamping, laser etching, etc.).
