Job Description
REQUIREMENTS:

* Bachelor's degree in a Biological Science or equivalent

* 0-2 years of experience in an animal research facility/veterinary practice environment

* Certification as an Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician (ALAT) or equivalent is highly desirable

* Must be able to access laboratory equipment on bench tops while using both hands to perform manual dexterity operations

* Strict attention to detail and follow-up skills are essential

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills, are necessary

* Able to work routine overtime (evenings, weekends, holidays) as needed

* No known allergies to animals

* Must have the ability to regularly lift up to 35 pounds

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Performance of technical work and physiological measurements in a preclinical laboratory

* Utilize standard laboratory equipment (e.g., ECG, balances)

* Familiarity with computer record-keeping systems is desirable

* On-the-job training and continuing education regarding techniques

* Perform all work in conformance with FDA, EPA, OSHA and other governmental regulations
