Research Fellow - Context-aware Computing

Research Fellow in Context-aware Computing. Outstanding individual that is expected to build a topic-related group, and to contribute strongly in planning of the strategies and activities of the respective areas in NRC. She/he is a leading expert in context-aware computing and related modeling.

Scope
Individual Contributor: Typically highest level of individual contributor in a job family. Demonstrates strategic thinking, assumes broad perspective. Designs and/or develops original programs, projects for functional subject areas. Manages implementation/utilisation through other organisation resources. Authorised to take decisions within own responsibility area. Managerial/Supervisory: Translates strategy into actionable programs, operations or activities. Clear strategic elements. Authorised to take decisions within responsibility area. Involved with, and responsible for, integrating or coordinating with other businesses or functions. May include geographic coordination of functions, or global functional/unit.


Requirements:
Very strong background in academic and applied industrial research in the area of context-aware computing is needed. World-class broad expertise is expected at least on one of the following areas, and good knowledge on another one is an asset: Personalization techniques; Search technologies; Pervasive computing; Contextual modeling; Peer-to-peer computing; Probabilistic modeling; Artificial Intelligence; Wireless sensor networks; Mobile data management; Metadata management. Proven track record of bringing research results into reality needed. Innovative mindset with the ability to seek actively new opportunities and contribute the key ideas to projects and programs is a must. Typically 10-15 years relevant experience. Degree PhD.
