Research Assistant

Research Assistant   The American Institutes for Research (AIR) is a well-established not-for-profit social science research and development organization.  Our Education Statistics Services Institute seeks a Research Assistant to support its client, the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES).

 

This position will conduct literature searches; write summarizes of literature, interviews and meetings; write, contribute to and proof memoranda, correspondence, literature, reviews, manuals, publications, journal articles and technical reports; prepare tables, graphs and figures; prepare data for analysis; conduct data quality checks and collections; conduct phone interviews and assists with site interviews; and assist with the facilitation of focus groups.  This candidate will provide logistical support; assist with project budgets and expenditures; interact with client organizations; assist in project management; and provide guidance to newer research assistants.

 

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in social science or related substantive area; SPSS and/or SAS proficiencies; proficiency with Windows; ability to work independently; and excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
