Pilot Lab Associate
Energizer Holdings, Inc. is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of dry cell batteries and flashlights. It is also the parent company of one of the leading safety razor manufacturers under two widely recognized names – Schick and Wilkinson Sword. The Milford, Connecticut facility is a 24-hour/7-day manufacturing site, as well as the global headquarters for Marketing, Sales, R&D, Engineering and Quality. We manufacture high quality shaving products including Intuition, Quattro, Quattro for Women, Quattro Power, Xtreme 3, Slim Twin, Tracer FX, and Silk Effects.
Position Summary and Special Duties:
Perform various duties to support in the assembly, inspection, physical measurement and evaluations of new and prototype products. Work will include the coordination and/or conducting set-up, debug, testing and troubleshooting of potential new products and processes. Must be capable of inspecting blade edges under microscope and/or measuring devises. Additional duties will require operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment and processes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Must be capable to fabricate and assemble concept prototypes
· Ability to work with very small prototype parts, good hand to eye coordination and dexterity is a must.
· Visually inspect new product and prototype cartridges for physical and dimensional conformance to the design criteria.
· Perform Leitz gage analysis for all current and prototype cartridges including competitive products. Evaluate readings to determine conformance to design criteria.
· Utilize precision measurement equipment to take physical measurements on new products and prototypes.
· Catalogue data in computer database for future analysis and archiving purposes.
· Responsible for maintaining inventory of products including prototypes, new products, current product, and competitive product.
· Be able to sit up to 6 hours while performing various Pilot Lab duties. Be able to occasionally move materials up to 75 lbs. Be able to bend, lift, stand and climb in order to retrieve products in storage.
· Be computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
· Must be flexible to work overtime or other shifts as required.
· Interface with various internal and external personnel including RD&E, Manufacturing, and Quality to coordinate work required and schedules.
Minimum Qualifications:
· High school diploma or GED
· Proven ability to perform complex laboratory procedures and collect data.
· The ability to work on multiple tasks with a minimum of supervision.
· Hands on experience in a laboratory and machine shop environment.
· Good communication, interpersonal skills and report writing ability.
