Aptium Oncology, Inc., is dedicated to helping patients with cancer live longer and better lives by developing and managing leading cancer programs in coordination with physicians and hospitals. We currently have an immediate opening for the following:
Manager Research Program
This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day functions of the Research Program and the departmental staff, assuring compliance with all Federal regulatory and administrative issues involved in the running of clinical trials, managing the clinical trials open at any given time and developing/maintaining systems to manage the fiscal details of the Research Program.
Responsibilities:Serve as the primary resource to physicians, patients and department and other CCC staff regarding the clinical trials performed and the investigational drugs used at the Cancer Center.Work closely with the investigators to determine the strategic fit of clinical trials to meet the patient population. Participate fully in Network activities involving other AO cancer centers.Assure compliance with and for all Federal regulations and laws governing the conduct of clinical trials in human subjects, following the International Committee on Harmonization’s “Good Clinical Practices” Guidelines.Oversee and take accountability for the finances for the Research Program.Promote and maintain the reputation of the Research Program.Take accountability for administrative and regulatory issues for pharmaceutical company studies.Ensure compliance by Research and Pharmacy staff for all investigational drugs supplied by pharmaceutical companies or the National Cancer Institute.Ensure good outcomes from site visits, initiation meetings, monitoring visits and/or audits by pharmaceutical companies or clinical research organization.Perform all managerial duties. Participate in Management Council, IPO Committee, and other Cancer Center/Aptium Oncology, Inc. requirements for managers.
Requirements:Certification through a clinical trials professional organization (SoCRA or ACRP).Bachelor’s degree preferred.5+ years experience in research, preferably in an oncology setting.3+ years of managerial experience.Experience in fiscal management and contracts negotiation.Understanding of statistical analysis.Working knowledge of regulations and GCPs.Superior managerial, organizational and analytic skills.
