Clinical Research Coordinator

Under the supervision of the Administrator of the Clinical Research Center and Principal Investigators, provide administrative assistance for the implementation and administration of clinical trials involving ocular genetic studies. Assist in the preparation of grant proposals; collect research data from patients; assist in the preparation of submissions for the Human Subject Protection and the Internal Scientific Peer Review Committee; screen, counsel and educate research subjects; attend meetings. The following are required: Certified in the shipping of biologic specimens. Must have up-to-date Phlebotomist certification per the State of California's requirements and perform blood draws in accordance with those standards. Ability to collect data from various sources and analyze information. Knowledge of various clinical trial protocols. Ability to interpret, coordinate, and execute complex clinical research protocols. Ability to interpret medical information for research subjects and families. Ability to interact and communicate effectively with colleagues and the public. Ability to collect data from various sources. Ability to take initiative and work on a self-directed basis with limited supervision. Ability to prioritize activities with conflicting deadlines. Skill in data and database management. Ability to utilize an IBM PC. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access software. Ability to type with speed and accuracy. Ability to write concisely and clearly, edit, and proofread to ensure grammatically correct and factual correspondence. Excellent interpersonal skills.
