Purchasing Agent

Specific Tasks to be Performed and Overall Responsibilities:

 

§  Procurement of materials, equipment, supplies and services from outside sources to support Sea Launch schedule and cost requirements 

 

§  Develops and implements negotiation strategies for cost, schedule, quality, delivery, and terms and conditions.

 

§  Evaluates vendor quotes and services to determine best value for Sea Launch.  Conducts price/cost analysis.

 

§  Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.  Develops solutions to a variety of complex procurement problems referring to established precedents and policies.

 

§  Authorizes and administers procurement contracts and contract changes, with designated commitment authority.  Conducts effective negotiations. 

 

§  Develops multiyear procurement contracts and agreements.

 

§  Documents procurement orders in accordance with procedural requirements and established policies

 

§  Coordinates with supporting work centers and personnel to ensure customer delivery, schedules and requirements are fully understood and met.  Represents the organization as a prime contact on contracts or projects.

 

§  Monitors supplier performance, expediting when necessary to ensure quality and timely delivery.

 

§  Develops supplier strategies and manages supplier performance.

 

·  Works under general supervision.

 

·  Maintains the highest ethical standards.

 

·  Possess strong communication skills.

 



Qualifications and Education:

 

§  Prefer Bachelor’s degree.

 

§  Minimum of 7 years purchasing experience in a corporate environment.

 

§ Proof of evidence to work in the United States is required.
