PURCHASING AGENTS/EXPEDITORS WANTED

The HFS Group is in search of Expeditors for our growing purchasing department. An ideal candidate would have prior experience functioning in an expediting or purchasing role within the hospitality industry. Additionally, the individual should be comfortable working within a fast-paced, dynamic and creative environment where the emphasis is placed on team work and satisfying our client’s needs.

EXPEDITOR:



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform purchasing assignments that include but not limited to sourcing, ordering and securing all product specified by the company for delivery to hotels and other commercial end-users.

• Review purchase requisitions for completeness and accuracy.

• Prepare and enter purchase orders as necessary.

• Calculate correct quantities to order according to budgets and contracts.

• Prepare and maintain logs, tracking reports, trip reports, notices and other correspondence necessary for documenting supplier schedules and progress.

• Schedule deliveries to support distribution and to optimize/minimize inventory and assist with resolving issues

• Work with the installer to reconcile shortages, overages or damages with goods received.

• Maintain accurate records on suppliers, purchase orders and pricing.

• Coordinate key purchases through purchasing managers or other buyers.

• Identify and execute cost reductions while optimizing material availability and minimizing excess and resolve any cost discrepancies

• Maintain continuity among corporate, division, and local work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Ability to perform efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline oriented environment.

• Excellent time management, organizational skills and detail-oriented skills

• Exceptional customer-focus with an emphasis on relationship building.

• Professional, ethical and committed to excellence in communications.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel and Outlook.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 2-5 years experience in supply chain management or related field.

Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field is a plus.
