Director, Purchasing & Supply Chain Management.

Main Purpose of the Job: 

 

Establish and run a world class purchasing and supply chain management function at Company headquarters located in Boca Raton, Fl.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

 

1.  Define and implement Company’s global supply chain management strategy.

2.  Supply chain ownership from New Product Introduction through End Of Life.

3.  Responsible for delivering innovative supply chain solutions to business challenges.

4.  Manage contract manufacturer and key supplier relationships.

a.  Develop a partnership relationship with shared risks and opportunities.

b. Leverage purchasing power and / or strategic market position to optimal effect.

5.  Develop and implement best in class supply chain management processes to deliver maximum value to the business in terms of:

a.  Costs.

b. Flexibility.

c.  Sustainability.

d. Robustness.

6.  Negotiation and implementation of supplier agreements and contracts focussing on:

a.  Aggressive, structured cost reduction.

b. Quality.

c.  Security of Supply.

d. Risk Mitigation.

7.  Proactively influence R&D component and supplier selection.

8.  Review MRP inputs and outputs, produce management reports and action plans where appropriate.

9.  Manage Contract Manufacturer, OEM and component purchase order placement and demand profiling including expediting and rescheduling in line with business requirements.

10. Actively seek out and pursue improvement opportunities within the global supply chain.

 

Education,  Experience and Qualities Expected:

 

-  Engineering, science or business related degree.

-  MBA or Supply Chain Management postgraduate qualification preferred.

-  10 years experience preferably in high tech manufacturing environment.

-  5 years experience in senior supply chain management position(s).

-  International management experience, European Union preferred.

-  Ability to manage remote teams and work effectively in a matrix structure and a multi-national environment.

-  Effective communicator and competent presenter.

-  Must be capable of excelling in a high change and time sensitive environment.

-  Self motivation, strong work ethic and attention to detail.

-  Ability to set clear goals, own and manage issues and escalate when necessary to achieve results.

- 10% - 20% travel required.
