At the West Hartford, location, Goodrich Pump & Engine Control Systems (GPECS) has been a leader in advanced fuel control systems technology for aerospace and industrial applications for over sixty years.

The West Hartford division is looking for a Commodities Manager, who will manage projects and improvement activities with suppliers to develop the lowest cost source of supply for direct materials. Other duties include, but are not limited to:

Provides leadership and direction to develop low cost country sources for direct materials. Develops make/buy tools and cost driver models for direct materials. Analyzes direct material cost structure to achieve the lowest cost source. Supports corporate initiatives for direct materials.

Primary Responsibilities
' Develops strategies for breakthrough cost reduction for direct materials.
' Develop suppliers' capabilities in low cost areas.
' Identifies lowest cost source of supply for direct materials and implements throughout GPECS.
'Manage projects when transitioning sources of supply including oversight for the technical, customer and regulatory requirements.
' Researches, develops and implements tools, processes, or infrastructures to achieve best practices and lowest cost sources of direct material.
'Prepare and present information such as key results and processes to management and employees.

This position requires at least BS degree, and at least 10 years of experience purchasing machined products, and at least 3 years related Supply Chain Management and/or Strategic Sourcing experience with a technical emphasis, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
