Opportunity for skilled and enthusiastic Buyer/Planner to support Gerber Scientific Operations (GSO) Strategic Purchasing Team.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Procurement of raw materials, component parts and finished goods to support Gerber Scientific Operations production and direct sales requirements for all assigned materials and commodities. Support of overall GSO goals and objectives through inventory planning and control of parts within defined areas of responsibility. Support and resolution of all material shortages, supplier invoice issues, ECO implementation, and MRB issues on a timely basis. Maintaining positive working relationships with both internal and external suppliers and customers and report key metrics to both suppliers and GSO management. Serving on Strategic Commodity Team(s) in reviewing supplier competency and recommending sourcing and cost down opportunities. Maintaining integrity of purchase order database through timely updates to delivery dates and quantities. Maintaining master data within SAP for all purchasing and planning views.

 REQUIREMENTS:

 

Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years experience in Purchasing and Supply Chain/Planning/Inventory Control in an MRP based manufacturing environment, with a global supply and customer base. Ability to multi task and work in a fast paced, high transaction volume environment. Excellent communication skills are required. SAP experience in MM and PP modules; project management experience with Six Sigma methodology preferred; proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and MS Access are required.  APICS Certification preferred.
