Art Director Assistant
PRIMEDIA’s Consumer Media & Magazines publishes more than 120 magazines and owns and operates their affiliated Web sites. The group serves the passions of its readers and the needs of advertisers through a wide range of Enthusiast and Broad Reach publications. Primedia is currently seeking an Art Director Assistant-Motor Trend and MT Classic, in our Automotive group located in Los Angeles, CA.
An enthusiastic, creative designer with exceptional design skills, attention to detail and who can work to deadlines is required to join the fast-paced & friendly MT team and work with the Creative Director to produce high quality magazines.The Art Director Assistant will be responsible for aiding the art director in the art direction, design and layout of two magazines, one monthly and one bi-monthly.
REQUIREMENTS:Knowledge of 4 color printing and typographyStrong attention to detailReliable, responsible, timelyResponsible for final production and quality of art files and liaison with pre-press.Applicants should be able to contribute ideas, take direction, and be a team playerCandidate should possess strong graphic experience, excellent sense of typographyMust excel in Adobe Photoshop and be competent in Adobe Illustrator and preferably be trained in InDesign.Must be organized with ability to prioritize under deadlinesMagazine experience a plus
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Prefer a degreed professional with some experience and design skills utilizing various creative methods with an emphasis on the cutting edge of current design trends. Exceptionally detail orientated and deadline orientated. Training can be provided for experienced Quark applicants to transition from Quark Xpress to INDESIGN software.
This position is offered at the low to mid 30's salary range based on experience.
