Baseball/Softball Apparel Product Manager

Key Roles: Set creative and business direction for the respective product line, taking responsibility for product and GM,Be central hub for product category between R&D/ Sales/ MFG / Operations and other functional groups.Create and give technical sales presentations – first in-house to our sales team, and then externally to key groups and accounts.
Product directionBe aware of market trends and be a leader in creating themBe savvy of product trends and have a great sense of when to follow trends and when opportunity exists to set trendsDirect the R&D team on these issues.Communicate direction with R&D team and follow up to make sure we stay on track for the visionSpecify delivery dates, calendar, price point targets, color schemes, etc. and track development with R&DDefine for R&D where they should be focused and help track our way there.Market study and competitive analysis. Perform both in order to lay out strategic direction.CommunicationBe hub of communication for Vendor / R&D / Sales, and operations on all issues pertaining to your product. Proactively keep key people from these functional areas in the loop so that they are not surprised or making poor decisions in their area due to lack of knowledge.Drive graphics process and coordinate efforts between R&D and graphics team.Systems accuracy and timelinessResponsible for all product in category to be accurately reflected in Easton systems at proper price, description, sku etc.Update Systems as needed as new product or changes occur.Inventory ResponsibilitiesCreate forecasting documents for salesReview forecasts for issues that you might be aware of or disagree with and alert sales.Track inventory to see that we maintain targeted amounts.Vendor communicationCommunicate global direction with vendorsFollow up on issues and proactively resolve before they become a problem.Sales SupportConduct well prepared educational, interesting presentations for sales meetings, road shows, and other events with internal and external customersSupport trade shows as needed
Job Spec for Baseball/Softball Product Manager:
Minimum 2 years retail experience in Baseball/Softball or applicable experience in apparel product development, preferably in the sporting goods market. BA or equivalentProduct knowledge of Baseball/Softball equipment in the market past and presentAbility to play all key roles in Job DescriptionComputer skills - proficient in word and excel
Nice to havePower point proficient not a must but a plusDrawing and photo programs like Photoshop, Corel draw, Adobe Illustrator, all a plusSecond spoken or written language:FrenchChineseSpanish
