Job Title:  Operations Assistant

 

C & B has specialized in providing ductile iron pipe, flange and mechanical joint fittings and ductile iron fabricated pipe for the Waterworks Industry.  For over 20 years, C & B has continued to meet the needs of our customers in the Water/Wastewater Industry. Through a wide variety of ductile iron products, manufacturing and customer service, C&B Piping remains a leader in the industry. We are looking for an individual to join this team with the following attributes.

·  Strong interpersonal and managerial communications skills

·  Broad understanding in areas such as quality, manufacturing, materials and planning functions

·  Strong written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated success with negotiations

·  Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites including Word, Excel and Power Point

·  Demonstrated knowledge and experience in world class manufacturing practices. 

·  Strong analytical skills with the understanding of technology, guidelines and methods applicable to the area and the ability to determine appropriate application.

·  Requires strong knowledge of regulatory requirements.

·  Knowledge of manufacturing protocols, statistical tools and methodology, and continuous improvement techniques preferred.

 

·  Understanding of quality management techniques and experience in developing quality and productivity goals and measures.

 

·  Skills in planning, budgeting and project management directed toward achievement of business goals.

 

·  Moderate to thorough understanding of financial performance reports and their implications.

·  Ability to work within a team environment

·  Positive, proactive approach to problem solving and impediments, mentors others to understand and model this approach.

·  Demonstrated desire to continually learn in order to keep up with changing technology

Responsibilities:Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

 Write routine reports and correspondence.

 Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

 Basic understanding of Internet and e-mail processes, software applications, and basic computer hardware.

 Provide direction and support to the material control function

 Ensure production and inventory control and timely supply of purchased and manufactured components

 Drive changes to procedures, policies and process and equipment to improve manufacturing functions

 Problem Solving

 Is accountable for manufacturing team activities to assure schedule adherence.

 Takes primary responsibility for establishing and maintaining a thoroughly supportive atmosphere throughout the group; encourages every member to participate.

 Ensures that manufacturing process is in accordance with Quality Manual.

 Participates and promotes subordinate participation on cross-functional and/or inter organizational teams. Frequently leads such teams or task groups especially when the scope is broad and/or the issue complex.

 Works with internal and/or external resources to resolve problems of medium to high complexity. May be primary representative of operations or quality group on projects. Expected to resolve own problems within area of responsibility, recommending and driving changes to operating policy when necessary. Plans and implements organizational changes within area of responsibility. Performs, organizes and supervises training of new employees.

 Maintain confidential information as such. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

 

Minimum Knowledge Required/Qualifications:

·  Mechanical/Industrial Engineering degree, with five or more years of experience in managing, directing and planning in a manufacturing environment.

·  Masters in business and administration is required or must be attained within an agreed upon time interval prior to employment.
