Executive Director
Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY at http://www.hoby.org ), America’s premier youth leadership organization, provides leadership development programs for high school students throughout the United States and internationally and promotes leadership, political awareness, activism, and community service. HOBY seeks an experienced, well-organized individual to serve as Executive Director at its Los Angeles headquarters, reporting to the chairperson of the Managing Board of Trustees. Responsibilities include Executive Management, Development and fund raising, Finance Management oversight, Board and Volunteer relations, Communications and PR.
Responsibilities include:
Managing a staff of 10; raising funds via events, grants, sponsorships and corporate support; overseeing organization’s finances; communicating effectively, thoroughly, and in a timely manner to stakeholders; implementing public relations activities; cultivating alumni to integrate them into the volunteer network; and managing Board, donor and volunteer relationships.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, journalism or related field preferred. Ten years management experience; non-profit experience a plus. A track record of success in business operations, staff management, relationship cultivation, fundraising and communications required. Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access.
