BookEnds Vice President of Raising More Money
BookEnds, an innovative Los Angeles-based community service organization is about Kids Helping Kids for Literacy. Students need books to learn to read and our children need to learn to help. Annually more than 20,000 students volunteer for BookEnds through organizing book drives in their schools to recycle their quality children’s books directly into the hands of students in schools and youth organizations in desperate need of books. Since l998, more than 140,000 students have volunteered for BookEnds to create classroom libraries in 441 youth organizations through the donation of more than 1.2 million books.
Established from the idea of an 8 year-old boy, BookEnds has grown to become an effective and efficient solution to filling the empty bookshelves serving our most educationally underprivileged students. BookEnds is powered by our students, governed by a diverse, mission-based board of directors, joined by our corporate and civic partnerships and lead by an energetic team of five staff members.
Our vision is just as our generation learned to recycle our trash to save our environment, so our children must learn to recycle their books to help educate their peers.
