Salary: $20k - $40k (Base pay $8-$11/hr)

Animal Health Technician, Veterinary

3 full-time positions open. Applicant will be expected to work hard. Job is never boring. Responsibilities include: blood draw, fecals, medicating dogs and cats, vaccinations and deworming, transporting animals to various locations, cleaning kennels and floors of clinic area, and walking the patients. Assistance with euthanasias when required is part of this job.

General requirements :

Applicant must be able to work with little supervision

Work requires the analytical skills to gather and interpret data in related situations

Basic animal handling/restraint

Valid driver's license required

Must stand, walk, bend and stoop to perform duties

Must have the ability to perform prolonged physical activity

Must be able to stand for 8 hours

Ability to lift 50lbs.



Technical requirements :

No veterinary experience is required but must not be adverse to needles.

Must be able to utilize simple computer programs once instructed on operation.

Must be in good health. Any condition that would be aggravated from exposure or through contact with animals or chemicals used to sanitize facilities, vehicles or equipment, is a disqualification.

May be expected to work weekends, holidays, and off hours

Job may require performance of tasks that involve potential for exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues, animal and human

Candidates should have some experinence with :

handling dogs and cats of all sizes. Feral/aggressive dog and cat experience is a plus.
