MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR II

Purpose
To oversee mechanical maintenance department, diagnose equipment failures and repair problems as they arise. To supervise and coordinate employees and activities within the Mechanical Maintenance Department in the areas of preventative and predictive maintenance.

Responsibilities
*Drives continuous safety, quality and environmental improvement through active participation and leadership with employees.
*Supervise mechanical maintenance department personnel, including training, performance management and scheduling activities. Assist and participate with hiring, interviewing, selection and orientation process.
*Define, assign and coordinate routine preventative/predictive maintenance on a regular basis, including working with Hydraulics, Electrical, Pneumatic, Power Transmissions, Welding, and Fabrication, vibration analysis, balancing, alignment, oil analysis and NDT.
*Oversee department inventory and inventory control. Manage inventory of spares and critical spares according to site business plan.
*Prepare various reports for internal distribution.
*Supervise construction and installation of new equipment, including EOM and Cap-x projects.
*Facilitate the development and implementation of various continuous improvement projects or process changes that improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.
*Work cooperatively with other departments to meet plant objectives, diagnose complex equipment problems, and meet plant goals.
*Participate on multi-function site business team.
*Establish and manage the department budget.
*Maintain knowledge of industry-wide technological developments.
*Owns progression (pay for skills) system for department.
*Owns equipment file system including mechanical drawings, vendor manuals and information, change documents.
*Ability to design small to medium scope changes including: conveyors, drives, pumps, fans.
*Maintenance of all mechanically related environmental compliance documentation.

Requirements:

Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
*Demonstrated knowledge of plant equipment, operations and predictive/preventative maintenance systems.
*Expert of continuous operation manufacturing process and improvement process.
*Proficient with the correct application of systems and processes that ensure continuous improvement (safety, environmental, maintenance, quality and manufacturing).
*Ability to correctly interpret and apply all LP policies and procedures.
*Ability to lead effective meetings and team assignments.
*Demonstrated oral, written communication and math skills.
*Ability to interface with peers.
*Ability to use computer and supporting software.
*Effective leadership, interpersonal, and motivational skills.
*Good organizational and project management skills.
*Basic budgeting and financial analysis skills.
*Expert skill in reading and interpreting blueprints and P&ID schematics.
*Ability to effectively implement change.

Education
*2-4 year technical or vocational degree.

Experience:
*4+ years predictive/preventative maintenance systems experience.
*Demonstrated supervisory or lead experience.
*Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.

Work Environment
*Plant environment.
