ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

 

The Austal Group, world leaders in the design and manufacture of aluminum fast ferries, cruise boats, luxury yachts and military vessels, are pleased to offer exciting opportunities for qualified professionals to join the Design Department. These opportunities may include the opportunity to travel to Austal’s Australian facility for periods of approximately 12 months. This position will be located in the Austal facility in Mobile, Alabama.

 

Qualified applicants should:

• Have a BS degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 2 years experience.

• Have experience in LV and ELV power distribution system design, troubleshooting, test, evaluation, and commissioning.

• Be familiar with commercial electrical installation standards. (IEEE or IEC)

• Be computer literate and familiar with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office products

• Have excellent written and oral communication skills.

• Have experience involving interaction with equipment manufacturers for the design and construction of switchboards and power panels.

• Have experience involving interaction with Production, multiple design teams from several companies and client representation.

• Be familiar with the acceptance requirements of a power distribution system survey Authority such as the NEC.

• Have an understanding of scheduling and an ability to adhere to strict deadlines and budgetary restraints

 

Experience in LV and ELV distribution systems on marine vessels either commercial or naval would be advantageous. This is an excellent opportunity in a rapidly growing company.
