Responsibilities of this position will include:
§Advising and counseling the company on regulatory compliance and licensing in financial services businesses (with a focus on sub- and non-prime sectors);
§Ensuring compliance with federal and state laws governing consumer lending and and other financial and/or regulated transactions;
§Developing pro-active legal education and training materials to address systemic legal issues;
§Managing ordinary-course claims and litigation related to the financial services businesses; and
§Supporting other department initiatives as needed.
This position requires an individual to be highly motivated personally and professionally, accustomed to self-direction, detail-oriented and well-organized. The successful candidate must possess a mature and professionally demeanor, along with the ability to develop effective working relationships with the company’s senior-, mid- and store-level Operations’ staff. This position will support the company’s businesses, working independently and as part of a team.
Requirements:Law degree from an accredited law school;License to practice law in a minimum of one jurisdiction;7-10 years related experience required; andExperience in sub- and non-prime financial services preferred; experience in litigation considered a plus.
