JOB SUMMARY:

Relying on experience and judgment and working under general supervision of attorney, resolves routine legal issues and performs paralegal and administrative duties.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary Functions:

' Researches and analyze law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions, and legal codes to prepare legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, appeals, contracts, initial and amended articles of incorporation, stock certificates and other securities, buy-sell agreements, closing papers and binders, deeds, and trust instruments for review, approval, and use by attorney.

' Investigates facts and law of case to determine causes of action and to prepare case accordingly.

' Prepares affidavits of documents and maintains document file

' May act as law librarian, keeping and monitoring legal volumes and ensuring legal volumes are up-to-date.

' May lead and direct the work of others

EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS:

' High school diploma or equivalent or Bachelor's degree

' Paralegal certification or equivalent work experience

JOB RELAVENT EXPERIENCE:

' 5 - 8 years experience or related experience

JOB-RELATED SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

' Working knowledge of a variety of the field's concepts, practices and procedures.

' Demonstrated effective communication skills both verbal and written

' Proficient with word processing applications such as Microsoft Word

' Ability to prioritize tasks

' Ability to multi-task

' Ability to work under pressure

' Ability to meet deadlines

' Attention to detail

' Ability to maintain confidentiality

WORKING CONDITIONS:

' Able to lift/carry reports and materials, move about the office, effectively use computer and filing system, communicate efficiently and effectively on phone and in person
