Position Description:

Chevron North America Exploration & Production Company (CNAEP) is accepting online applications for the position of a Land Representative (0609-50163391) located in Anchorage, Alaska through October 20, 2006. This position is being extended; please do not re-apply if you have previously applied.


Qualifications:

POSITION DETAILS:
The Land Representative will be responsible for providing Land services to an MCBU technical team in the State of Alaska. Responsibilities will include:
- Negotiate leases, farmouts, operating agreements, rights-of-way, surface and other agreements with partners, lessors and surface owners.
- Draft Joint Operating Agreements and other contracts associated with the above.
- Review title opinions and applicable files and provide curative material necessary for new drills, workovers, and recompletions.
- Work with Federal, State, Native, and local officials as necessary in association with company operations.
- Perform a variety of lease maintenance activities, including, but not limited to, lease and agreement data entry in company systems.
- Comply with company and client safety initiatives and requirements.

SPECIAL SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS OR ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS/INFORMATION:
- Bachelor's degree required in PLM, EMS, Business, Law or related degree.
- Relocation benefits will be considered.
- Must be able to relocate to Anchorage, Alaska.

SELECTION CRITERIA:
- Negotiation Ability: Possesses appropriate interpersonal skills and communication methods to establish relationships.
- Contract Interpretation/Drafting: Ability to review and draft contracts (JOAs, etc.) to effectively accomplish business objectives.
- Knowledge of Regulatory Agencies: Has basic knowledge of MMS, BLM and State of AK O&G rules and regulations.
- Oil & Gas Law Knowledge: Has basic understanding of oil and gas contracts and laws/regulations affecting same.
- Communication: Can express thoughts and actions concisely and thoughtfully, both verbally and in writing.
- Teamwork: Can operate in a team environment and focus on team vs. individual goals.
- Systems and Software Use: Prior experience in the use of software (Word, Excel, etc.) and databases (QLS, Premas, SAP, etc.) to accomplish business objectives.
- Experience: Has either prior work experience in oil and gas industry or exposure thereto.
