Responsibilities:

The Benefits Consulting unit is responsible for the review and interpretation of benefits legislation and government regulations and implementation of resulting changes to product or systems.  The staff is responsible for ensuring compliance with required government regulations and standards.  Members provide technical compliance and systems support to field and internal staff as needed to resolve problems or identify best sales approaches.

A major focus of this position is to develop and implement a strategic plan for asset, premium and fee generation initiatives.  Upon reviewing the elements of the current pension and group plans, the incumbent is expected to implement a plan that will significantly improve current premium, fee and asset retention results.  This major focus will require cost benefit analysis, staffing evaluations, and securing needed approvals for execution of such plan.  The incumbent must be significantly aware of the Pension Protection Act and its impact on any new initiatives.  Additional responsibility will include the researching, evaluation, and recommendation of enhancements to current products or recommendations for new annuity products that will successfully maximize the asset retention efforts.

A long-term goal of this position is to develop significant new premium and fees from value added technical services provided by the Benefit Consulting unit.  Enhancing this goal is to also develop needed systems and procedures, develop pricing and marketing materials, develop action plan for development/implementation of services, and once implemented track activities and results.


Participate in the development and implementation of a marketing strategy plan that will promote annual growth and profitability, increase customer satisfaction and retention, and broaden Business Product Benefits’ customer base.


Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree or equivalent

Extensive benefits experience and insurance knowledge of diversified pension and group products and investments is essential.  Understanding of government regulations and taxation of benefits products is required.  Extensive knowledge of investment avenues as it relates to Pension plans is required.  This position requires an in depth knowledge of NASD and SEC rules and regulations.  This position requires a strong understanding of annuity products including ability to interpret contract, plan, and prospectus provisions as they relate to State, IRS, and SEC/NASD regulations for both new issues and existing contracts. Previous successful management experience and analytical abilities is needed to develop, implement, and monitor benefits programs.  Knowledge of Sentry’s organization and distribution systems is beneficial.  Ability to organize and coordinate various activities related to planning, developing, and implementing benefits products and programs is beneficial.

Compensation and Benefits:

The starting salary can be up to $96,044 annually depending on experience and qualifications.
