PBX TECHNICIAN

Spherion a leading recruiting and staffing company is seeking a PBX Technician to work at a  local military facility. 

 

Job Description

Provide support to PBX deployments in person and via the telephone.

Produce and maintain network documentation, including a complete list of network equipment in use, in inventory, and at all deployments. Develop standards for equipment replacement and maximize inventory control for all necessary spare parts or sources for spare equipment.

Provide PBX installation support. Understand, research and test new technologies.

Support the deployment of High Speed Internet Access co-resident with the PBX using technologies including DSL, broadband and wireless Internet access. Work closely with Internet engineering staff and project managers to facilitate clean and careful deployments.

This position requires interfacing with US Government and military officials and officers and requires requisite grooming standards associated with these type of government and military environments.

This position works in and out of typical office environments to include basement and attic areas of businesses and homes, rooftop environments of businesses and homes and other areas in which telecommunications services are found, including underground conduit.

This position requires agility and strength and includes heavy lifting and installation of heavy equipment.

 

Qualified candidates must have at least 1-2yrs technician experience preferably with the Northern Telecom switching system.
