Maintenance-Mechanical Repair Technician

A contract position available with a major aerospace client in Phoenix, AZ near Sky Harbor airport.

Seeking a industrial mechanical maintenance technician skilled in the ability to troubleshoot and repair manual, NC and CNC lathes, grinders, machining centers and other various machine tools to assist with our machine tool PM program. Must be able to align, troubleshoot, and repair multi axis machine tools including precision bearing replacement and bearing set-up. Candidate will need experience performing preventive maintenance on hydraulic, pneumatic and lubrication systems. Ability to interpret blueprints, maintenance manuals, schematic and line diagrams is required. A successful candidate will be able to use micrometers, indicators, straight edges, and sine plates to analyze and repair machine tools. Must have 5 years related experience in the mechanical maintenance troubleshooting and repair of CNC and manual machine tool equipment; a 2 year certificate indicating training in a formalized apprenticeship, vocational, or trade school program is desirable.

Ability to perform duties requiring skill in repair and rebuild of all types of industrial and commercial piping and pumping systems. Ability to troubleshoot and repair machine coolant systems and related filter systems. Understand the basic functionality of pumps and the ability to troubleshoot and change out said pumps. Must understand and adhere to all safety rules and use of proper PPE. Self motivated to work with minimum or no supervision. Ability to work effectively under pressure on critical down equipment to help meet manufacturing deadlines.

SCHEDULE: Weekend Shift Work, Friday-Sunday 12.5 hour shifts
