JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

FACILITIES DATA CENTER TECHNICIAN

 

Shift schedule will be as follows:Either Three or Four Days On Duty – 6:00am to 6:00pm Off Duty 3 or 4 days, but available for on call in emergencies

 

Job description for shift Facilities Data Center Technicians

Primary duties:Perform all normal Monitoring functions of shift Technicians.Be versed in all procedures so that, when needed, can recover from emergencies.Complete normal work orders or PM’s.Test run Generators on scheduled run times.Assist with Vendor PM’s on Critical equipment (UPS Units, ATS Switches and Chillers).Update all required Documentation in a timely manner to ISO 9001 standards.Keep all Mechanical and Electrical Rooms clean and orderly.Update and maintain inventory of spare parts.Replace all burnt out Lights.Keep all floor tiles seated in place and make repairs when needed.Monitor all contractors that are performing work on raised making sure they have a change ticket and understand what they will be doing.Escort all contractors that need to be escorted to raised floor.Remove trash from raised during each shift.Log any problems that are found in the daily logbook and note if completed or outstanding.

 

Assist with the following:Making sure all Power cabling is installed and labeled correctly per documented standards.Tracking and documenting all circuits and power bars.Maintaining equipment standards list to as current as possible.Install shelves and Key Board trays in all cabinets.Maintaining all Cabinets in proper working order Doors opening and closing, fans working and any other repairs needed by IS or Facilities.Make sure that all work being done on Data Center floor is completed under a Change Control Ticket.Review all scopes of work to make sure circuits are available in area that equipment will be installed.Provide all information requested to all concerned partiesWork with all concerned parties to clarify any questions on scope of work.Provide timely information when requested.

 

Training:Contribute information to help develop training manuals that can be used by other technicians.Provide training to other Technicians on raised floor functions.Provide access to all data for other technicians when not on site.

 

The right candidate will have good communication skills (both verbal and written), have strong analytical skills, be diligent and thorough in documentation practices, be detail oriented, and be able to present him/herself in a professional manner at all times.  This position is located in Tempe, AZ.

 

A strong background in HVAC and Electrical distribution is essential, and knowledge of building automation systems a plus.
