The Department of Radiation Oncology at the Cedars-Sinai Outpatient Cancer Center is currently seeking a Dosimetrist to join our team of three physicists and one dosimetrist. Working closely with physicians, you will ensure continuous accuracy of delivered, modified and total radiation doses, select radiation beam modifiers to improve treatment effectiveness while reducing dose to normal tissue, and handle/lodge radioactive sources during brachytherapeutic procedures.

 

The department has the following equipment:

·  3 EX series Varian linear accelerators, each equipped with

120-leaf MLC's

·  Nucletron microSelectron (V2) HDR unit

·  Pantak Therapax 150 Superficial X-ray unit

·  IMPAC record and verify System

 

For treatment planning, we have ADAC Pinnacle, Nucletron Plato (branchy),

Radionics X-Knife, and Varian Cadplan/Helios.

 

Requires an education in Radiation Therapy Technology and knowledge of anatomy, mathematics, physics and computers. Must be willing to stay current with field trends through continuing education. Decision-making and analytical skills are vital. A Certified Medical Dosimetrist is preferred, as is 3D planning experience.
