Registered Nurse (Emergency Department)
Overview : Washakie Medical Center is a critical access hospital located in north central Wyoming at the foot of the Big Horn Mountains, in the city of Worland. The hospital provides a full array of inpatient and outpatient health care services including a Level III trauma Center, state-of-the-art birthing suites, and a specialty clinic providing a wide range of care by visiting physicians. We are currently looking for a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department.
Responsibilities :
Provides professional nursing care within the Emergency Department; coordinates care planning with other disciplines. Provides direct and indirect care in the emergency care setting, Provides care that reflects initiative, flexibility, and responsibility indicative of professional expectation with a minimum of supervision. Is able to triage safely, rapidly and accurately, every patient that enters the emergency care setting. Determines priorities of care based on triage levels, as well as factors influencing patient flow through the system. Communicates with Emergency Department physicians about changes in the patient's status, symptomatology and results of diagnostic studies. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
Must be flexible to rotate shifts to accommodate staffing needs. Responds promptly to changes in workload, adjusting assignments as necessary to achieve optimal productivity and efficiency.
Pay range for this position is $18.94 to $30.27.
Qualifications :
Education/Experience:
Graduate of an Accredited school of nursing required
Minimum of one year acute/critical care experience preferred
Technical Skills:
Manual dexterity and physical agility to operate all equipment and perform all procedures. Utilizes safe body mechanics to ensure patient and caregiver safety.
Other qualifications/certificate/license:
Current license to practice professional nursing in the State of Wyoming. Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification. Additional credentials/certifications may be required for specialty areas to include but not limited to the following: ED, OR, PACU, ICU Endoscopy, OB.
BLS and ACLS certification. PALS within 6 months. TNCC and ENPC within 6 months.
