RN Administrative Coordinator

Overview : This position is 24 hours per week, including every other weekend. The shift is 8p-8a.

The Administrative Coordinator is responsible and accountable to provide administrative supervision for all facility activities, Inpatient, Outpatient, Fiscal, Ancillary and Human Resources during that portion of the shift (weekend, evenings, nights and holidays) in which the manager and/or administrative personnel are absent.

Responsibilities :

1. Provides leadership oversight for the facility in the absence of Directors and Administrator on Duty. Interacts with staff to assess patient care and ensure safety and effectiveness; assists staff with unfamiliar procedures.

2. Allocates nursing personnel according to acuity system, census, and clinical competencies required to effectively manage financial, human, material and informational resources.

3. Responds as Lead First Responder to all codes and other crisis situations; assesses and implements plan of persons, and evaluates response. Investigates accidents, incidents, and complaints of patients, visitors, physicians and staff. Resolves problems without negative patient outcome.

4. Manages patient admission and transfer placement per patient needs/acuity.

Qualifications :

The position requires current registration as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alaska plus a Bachelor's degree in nursing or a related field from an accredited school and five years or more nursing experience with supervisory responsibilities. Must maintain current ACLS certification. Eight years of experience in nursing may be substituted for the Bachelor's degree.
