Registered Dietitian

The DIETITIAN is responsible for: (1) advising home health professional regarding the nutrition for acutely ill and/or chronically ill patients in their homes; (2) providing direct dietary counseling to acutely ill and/or chronically ill patients and families. He/she works under the supervision of the designated supervisor.



Required Skills:
1. Graduate with a Baccalaureate or Master''s degree from a program with an accredited dietetic curriculum.

2. Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association.

3. Ability to function in any home situation regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition of the patient.

4. Must possess the disposition and personality to work harmoniously with a wide variety of people and all levels of staff, and interact professionally as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.

5. Ability to work flexible hours as required to meet identified patient needs.

6. Use of good judgement to handle the professional and confidential nature of assignments.

7. Ability to adapt to changing organizational needs.

8. Speaks, writes, reads and comprehends English.
