Job Description:Performs medical history interview of applicant or qualified donors and documents responses including annual physical examination of donors and potential donors in a plasma collection centerResponsible for ensuring informed consent is received from donors including explanation of the procedure, hazards, and potential adverse reactions; explanation of immunization schedules, dose and antibody response;Provides clear opportunity for donor to refuse participation; obtains signature and date certifying informed consent Incase of emergency responsible for contacting Center Physician contacting emergency medical service/local hospital as needed; and maintaining the emergency medical kitReviews test results and approves continued donor suitabilityFollows all internal SOPs.

Job Requirements:Ability to maintain confidentiality with respect to personnel, donor, and center records reviewed during the course of all dutiesAbility to complete an annual personal physical of all donors including heart, lung sounds, signs of drug use, etcKnowledge of the plasma industry including instruction of donors, staff, and community regarding plasma donation program and teach donors regarding risks and health issuesFamiliar with common medical equipment such as otoscope, reflex hammer, stethoscope, blood pressure cuff. Graduation from a recognized educational program such as nursing, emergency medical technician, or physician assistant, or the equivalent (EMT's/LPN's or equivalent)One to two years experience in the hospital or field careExperience in a plasma center environment is a plusCurrent licensure or certification as required by state law (at least an EMT level certification)Current certification in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
