Qualifications :

An incumbent must have a minimum of 5+ years recent experience in a hospital or medical environment resulting in knowledge of medical terminology and professional physician interface. Operational knowledge working with word processing, spreadsheets, data entry, fax machines and other computer related skills are necessary. Communication skills, both verbal and written, along with astute judgment in areas of human relations are critical. Setting priorities for multi-functional tasks to be done simultaneously is common. Completion of two years of college is highly desirable. Experience in interacting with physicians. Possesses exceptional human relations skills to interface and communicate in an articulate manner with medical staff, administrators, attorneys and hospital personnel. National Certification as a Medical Staff Services Professional is preferred. Knowledge of medical staff computer software programs desirable. Ability to maintain a positive attitude and composure while handling customer interpersonal demands under stressful conditions. Ability to summarize oral and written information in order to ensure appropriate communication.
