Laboratory Supervisor

This position is accountable for technical oversight, direction and testing in the Laboratory sections of Microbiology, Serology, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Hematology, or Blood Bank. This position is also accountable for staffing and personnel management of their area. The incumbent performs routine and specialized laboratory procedures accurately and efficiently under the direction of the Laboratory Director and adheres to the policies and procedures of Laboratory Services to ensure high quality patient care. The incumbent also functions as the person in charge of the laboratory when delegated in the absence of the Director. This position is responsible for addressing regulatory compliance, utilization, QA/QI, QC and will serve as technical liaison as needed. The position will provide quality patient care through Laboratory Services to patients of all age groups. Requires Bachelor's Degree and 3 - 5 years experience in related laboratory specialty plus the ability to evaluate equipment and methodology and train staff. Requires MT (ASCP), CLS (NCA) certifications.
