Schedule: Full-time, Regular; 40 hours per week; Day-shift; Monday-Friday; 8:30 am-5:00 pm
 
Education: Graduate of an approved Physician Assistant training program approved by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
 
License: Licensed Phy. Asst. by the Medical Board of CA -M.B.C. & the Phy. Asst. Examining Committee (PAEC)

Certification: BLS certification required.
 
Job Summary: Provides health care services to members under direction and responsibility of physician.
 
Qualifications: May be required to possess specialty skills in order to perform tasks required by the specific department (e.g. Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, etc.). OR first assist experience required. Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.

Duties: Examines patient, performs comprehensive physical examination, and compiles patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination. Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests, and interprets test results for deviations from normal. Performs therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, and managing infection. Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in provision of continuity of care. Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance. Consistently supports compliance and the Principles of Responsibility (Kaiser Permanente's Code of Conduct) by maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of information, protecting the assets of the organization, acting with ethics and integrity, reporting non-compliance, and adhering to applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, accreditation and licenser requirements (if applicable), and Kaiser Permanente's policies and procedures.
