Safety Specialist
RMC is seeking a Safety Specialist with 3-5 years of safety experience with a BS degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Safety Engineering or related field with significant experience in health safety. Applicants pursuing Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred. Applicants must have demonstrated ability to implement safety policies and practices; knowledge of OSHA regulations; good oral and written communications skills; analytical reasoning and problem solving capabilities; balanced approach to technical and people aspects of business; and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Duties include but are not limited to coordinating training to meet state and federal OSHA requirements; maintaining safety records; providing safety analyses of new equipment and process changes; assisting in tracking injuries; reviewing and making recommendations for safety improvements; coordinating safety and ergonomic inspections; when necessary, conducting safety orientations; tracking and trending information; data collection and analysis; creating extensive documentation and presentations on a wide range of information.
Additional responsibilities include; maintaining understanding and knowledge of current federal, state, and company regulations and policies; performing Job Hazard Analysis, system auditing, and ergonomic task analysis; coordinating and conducting injury review process to determine and correct root cause; leading implementation of injury reduction efforts; tracking and reporting operational safety performance; analyzing new equipment and verify operator safety; conducting safety training programs for all levels of operation; providing leadership and coordination for safety action teams.
