Located in Ascellon's Health Services Group, the Grant Specialist will be responsible for reviewing/analyzing federal and state government grants, ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or policies and procedures. This position will provide technical assistance to Grants Manager with designing, formulating, preparing, processing, coordinating and the review of Federal and State grants for the corporation. Under the direction of the Grants Manager, duties for this position include:

Review and analyze public health related Federal and State Government grants, contracts, and/or agreements.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or policies and procedures.
Ensure all required aspects of the grant review are completed according to specifications and to contract requirements.
Provide technical assistance and grant interpretation to grantees.
Meet and confer with management and grantees to resolve problems and coordinate services.
Research and use agency and community resources and services.

 

Requirements:Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Public Health or related field.
Minimum of 0-5 years experience working in a professional environment. Experience working with federal and/or state government grants and contracts preferred but not required.  Experience in Public Health and/or social services a plus.
Strong knowledge of US Government contracting regulations and policies, including experience and training in federal compliance rules, regulations, and standards associated with federal funds preferred.
Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
Superior organization, analytical thinking, and problem solving skills.
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
Superior Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
