GIS Server Side Developer

GIS Server-side Developer

Develop software in technologies for unix (Sun Solaris) including Java (J2EE, J2SE), Python, ArcIMS AXL/MXD, etc. Write scripts to assist the production of server-side data, maintain cvs (or subversion) for code version management, assist configuration of Apache/Tomcat services, assist client interaction, and maintain software documentation. Apply appropriate lifecycle standards and methodologies specific to server environment, web application deployments, and underlying configurations. Provide technical consultation, support, advice, and trouble shooting assistance to resolve application software problems.

Minimum qualifications:

Associate degree in computer science, computer technology or equivalent field and three years of progressively responsible related experience. Experience with geospatial processing, network tracing, cartographic design, ESRI technologies, and Oracle database. Ability to Code software, using languages such as Visual Basic, C++, Java, Oracle, ASP, VBA, and GIS development tools (ArcGIS, ArcIMS, ArcObjects). Apply advanced GIS concepts and techniques to perform geographic analysis and extend new and existing business applications through the integration of GIS functionality and data. Develop objects and stored procedures. Key subject areas include applications development, topological networks, programming, web development, data administration, data architecture, data acquisition, and quality control.
